If you are a Cox Internet customer with Contour TV Essential or higher
I noticed you altered the information to prove a point.
The real information is as follows: "If you're a Cox Internet customer with Essential or higher video package..."
However, you snuck the phrase "Contour TV" within your post. Why do you lie?
My original question is what does "video package" and "Essential" mean in the link? I only know of 1 Cox reference to "Essential" and it's the Cox Internet data plan: Essential 50 Package.
After some research, however, I did find an "Essential" reference to Cox TV. I've only seen 3 TV plans: Cox TV Starter, Contour Flex and Contour TV. If you research the channel lineup for your area, you'll see these 3 packages.
Within Contour TV, there are 2 options: TV Essential or Contour TV Ultimate. Within the fine print for the Mini Box, there is also a snippet about TV Starter and TV Essential channels. Therefore, "Essential" could refer to either TV or a data plan. You could have just written Essential could mean a TV package.
However, the original post has nothing to do with TV. OP wrote, "I have Cox Preferred 150 Internet...Peacock requires "internet video package" of at least Essential...does my P-150 meet the standard?"
I don't know if the OP even has a cable box. Even if the OP has a cable-box, you don't need to pay more to upgrade a TV package...or a cable-box...to stream Peacock. You can steam via computer, mobile, tablet or game console. Cox will charge for the data anyway so use whatever streaming device you want. Why pay more to Cox?
So...if the OP returns,
- Peacock requires at least 2.5 Mbps
- P-150 meets the standard
- "Internet video package" means TV package and cable-box
- You don't need a TV package and cable-box to stream Peacock
- Considering any TV upgrade, it'd be cheaper to stream from a different platform
