Internet slows to around 6mbps every day, resetting modem helps

I have the gigabit package.  For the most part I get 700-900mbps just fine.  Every day in the early afternoon, something flips and I'm throttled to 6mbps.  This continues until I reset my modem, and my normal speed is regained.  I'd rather not have to do this to get the speed I pay for.  Anyone run into this problem?

    Hi Andor83,

I can certainly understand your frustration. You shouldn't have to reset the modem every day to get the right speeds. We would like to help you out with that. To do that, we ask that you email us at cox.help@cox.com with your service address and a link to this forum post.

Are you seeing the modem switch to a different set of channels around that time? Look at your signal page and see what range(s) of frequencies you're seeing. The most common ranges are 8xx Mhz, 9xx MHz, and 4xx MHz. Compare what set of frequencies you have when you're getting good speeds versus slow speeds. There could be a problem with one of the channel sets, and you only see them problem when your modem is using that set.
