Installed POD and lost 5G

How do I make it choose the 5G rather then the lesser?

    I believe the 5 GHz frequency of the Pods is reserved for backhaul communications to the router.  What's backhaul?  Your device(s) communicate with the Pods on 2.4 GHz and the Pods communicate with the router on 5 GHz:  backhaul.
