Hi. I can understand how frustrating it is to hear noise from your gateway all the time. You can certainly take the gateway into the local Cox retail store and see if there is another alternative for you. Also, you can make sure that the one you leave with doesn't make any noise. The Cox store said that my only option was to upgrade to a higher level of service for a different router. I’m not interested in paying more for service I don’t need - just want a router that doesn’t make me crazy!
