Firmware update

I called to get the latest firmware update pushed to the modem and the tech support lady had no idea what firmware was.  She wanted to send a service man to the house to replace the wires on the outside of the house.  Then she said she couldn’t update the firmware, even though she saw that the firmware was out of date, because only the manufacture can do that for a netgear cm1000.  Anyone else have this issue with tech support? Anyone know another way to update firmware to a modem besides the ISP?

    On top of this... the tech lady told me that she can’t transfer me to her supervisor because the phones don’t work that way.  That the supervisor was trying to call me at that very second.  I have call waiting and no one was calling.  It’s been over an hour and still no one has called.

    You are going to have to call someone on the phone they are much more helpful.
