If it happens again, use Facebook or Twitter. It's also a good idea to have a backup email account for when Cox doesn't work.
I do have another email, but the people I were corresponding with before I left and needed to stay in touch with didn't have that email and I didn't have their emails to let them know, as Cox locked me out of my email. I was able to contact Cox through chat they were just all wrong and no one could fix my issue. I don't see how their facebook or twitter people would be any smarter.

Chat is outsourced, so that why you had to spend hours with them to get it fixed. Facebook and Twitter go to the Social Media Team which moderate these forums. Also the same people the email goes to. They are official employees, not outsourced. Different training and ability. I suspect you could have fixed your problem in 5-10min with them. If it happens again, try it.

Not all chat agents are outsourced. If you get escalated in chat, you end up with someone in the CAG, U.S. Agents.

My point is chat<Social Media team IMO. Do you agree that it shouldn't have taken hours to do?
