Click to cancel

So I have asked moderators this question several times and all I got was silence, so now I am making a formal post on the question. Why is Cox suing the FTC to stop the Click to Cancel ruling? Besides greed and profit, what is their reasoning? I would like to hear Cox's side on the matter. See video here. If this post is locked, it will show that Cox is the bad guy now and trying to hide it.

Can a moderator at least tell me if the reason they are being so silent is because they don't know or that they aren't allowed to discuss it?

they don't know. Actions like this are taken up by the people who own Cox. It's not a publicly traded company and when i worked for Cox, this kind of thing was never discussed with us.

Well first, I know they wouldn't have power to do or change anything, but there should be some kind of PR announcement about the issue that was sent down from the higher ups. There was about the RI/FCC thing. There was also news releases in regards to the lawsuit about piracy verdict. I would normally check Cox's News release site, but it's broken. Go figure.

As for never being discussed when you worked there, it wasn't anything the FTC was going after back then so that doesn't surprise me.

  • Cox sure does make it difficult to cancel.  You have to speak to someone and even after you tell them you want to cancel, they still try to hem haw/slow walk it.  Even after they asked me why, they still kept making other different comments.  They couldn’t offer me any discounts because apparently I was already getting the best deal.  This hem haw was after 1 agent disconnected and the other ignored me when I told them what I needed help with.  Of course after all of that, I didn’t get any feedback link like a person normally would if a “problem” was solved.

This is why Cox is going downhill. Cox makes it difficult for customers to deal with. This isn’t the first time and their prices are not competitive. I will be getting new service for $47.76 with higher speed and unlimited data.

Really Cox?  Add’l $50 for unlimited data.  See ya!!

Yes but unfortunately we switch to a fiber optics company and everything worked great for one week  Then suddenly no wifi  it is Sunday and they said the earliest they would come is Tuesday to fix it!
we still had cox modem so I tried to get a better deal and just get the cox wifi again for one month until  we get this new company figured out.
cox made a new WIFI APP THAT WE NEED TO USE NOW AND THEY HAVE NOT HELPED TO USE IT! THE SALESPERSON acted like they could get us back our service as before but " Forgot" to tell us we now have to use this app in order to sign in to our existing network names!
So yes wifi back but ONLY a generic network that is unsecured!

First, please stay on topic. Create a new post for your issue.

Second, usually when they switch a area to fiber, regular cable(HFC) no longer works.

Last, if they gave you a panoramic gateway, it should use the SSID and password written on the bottom of the gateway. Should use WPA2 or WPA3 depending on the model. Also, if you don't like the Cox gateway, buy your own modem and router. It's even easier with fiber because all you need is a router.
