Forum Discussion
Cox credentials used to access Contour are different from the ones used to access this forum and your Cox account. Your HBO and Cinemax credentials are probably different too and they appear to have been corrupted.
When you select Live TV on the Contour screen, do you see the TV listings grid? If not, I had a similar problem and fixed it for Chrome. See this thread. This only clears selected data and is the focused version of Cox telling you to take the shotgun approach when they recommend clearing cookies and cached data.
If you performed the process in the above link to clear Contour site data and verified you can now see the TV listings grid, try accessing hbogo or maxgo. If they still don't work or if you didn't have to clear site data for Contour, perform the process in the link to clear site data for hbogo or maxgo, using the appropriate signin website. You may have to clear site data for both. This should solve your issue. You could probably take the equivalent steps for other browsers. Please post back and let us know your results.
I followed your instructions in the link, cleared all the cookies and data then tried it again.
It does get farther now, after entering my login info on the sign in page the Contour page comes back up and it briefly says "Connecting".
Then it changes to a black loading screen with the spinning circle, but after about 10 seconds it goes back to the sign in page again.
I tried HBO just to see and no change there.
I appreciate your help, but I don't want to waste any more of your time. I'll give Cox a call Monday morning and see if they can find out what's wrong. I watch something on HBO or Cinemax many nights a week, and never had any problem until a few days ago when it suddenly started giving me the error.
Thanks again, I appreciate your efforts in helping me out.

I'm just sorry it didn't solve your issue. Before we table it until Monday, can you try signing out of Contour and signing back in? When I was having my issue with Contour, I wasn't able to get to the "Sign Out" function. (Click the gear in the upper right). If it still doesn't work after you sign out and sign in, then we'll know your issue is different than what mine was.

When I click on the watchtv link I go directly to a "Sign into Contour" login page. With User and password, and a "Sign In" button. There is no gear or any option to log out. It would seem I'm not logged in since it's asking me to do so instead of going to the Contour page.
Clicking the sign in button just takes me around the loop and back to the sign in page again, I can't log out from any of those pages since they only last a few seconds, and seem to be blank except for the message in the center.
When I try to sign in to HBO this is the message that comes up:
---------------------------------------------------------------
Signed OutWe’re having trouble verifying your access to HBO GO with your TV provider. It appears that your Cox subscription does not include HBO, or that you are attempting to sign in without the Primary Account username and password. HBO GO is available free to Cox Primary Account holders who subscribe to HBO.-------------------------------------------------------------

Clicking the gear icon on the Contour site displays the "Sign Out" button. But, the gear icon can't be displayed until Contour has been successfully loaded. And, you're unable to successfully load Contour because your sign in credentials appear to still be corrupted. How frustrating is that? But, that's the same thing that happened to me. However, when I found the procedure I documented in that link, it cleared my corrupted Cox credentials data and prompted me to login the next time I tried to access https://watchtv.cox.com. I was able to successfully sign in after that.
I just tested by signing out of Contour and exiting the website. When I went back to the Contour site, it prompted me for my Cox credentials and then loaded the Contour page.
When you performed the steps at the link, it doesn't seem to have cleared all data used by Contour to sign in because something is still out of sync somewhere. The Contour site prompts you for your Cox credentials because you aren't signed in, but it won't successfully complete the sign in process.
One thing different between what I had and your experience is that I wasn't using hbogo and maxgo. I would perform steps 1-5 of the instructions at the link for all three websites to clear site data from all three. Replace https://watchtv.cox.com with the appropriate website address for hbogo and then maxgo. It may be that corrupted data for the hbogo and/or maxgo websites is interfering with Contour. After clearing site data from all three sites, try loading Contour again. I feel like when you get one site to work, they'll all work.
