Display Elapsed Time

I have a "Contour Record 6 HD-DVR" receiver.  I would like for the elapsed time (for a show or movie) to always display on the screen.  I know I can click the "OK" button to have it temporarily display, but #1, it does not stay on the screen, and #2, it shows those other options, as well, and takes up 25% or so of the entire screen.

I would like the elapsed time to display in one of the corners or at the top or bottom.  Is that possible?
