Outlook 2013 shuts down after sending/receiving

Have been using outlook 2013 along with cox service for years.  When I open up Outlook, I can see emails being received and the inbox populate, however when the last email is received then outlook shuts down.    It happens every time.   I have updated outlook, thru Microsoft support with repairs. No Change.
