Network unresponsiveness/disconnect random but apparently daily.

I've had Cox internet for awhile and it's been superb. I don't know if there's any correlation but over the past year Verizon and Glo fiber has installed their lines through the properties.  Glo particularly destroyed a portion of my lawn.  My connection for awhile now.. (not helpful and router only holds 90 days of logs.

  • There seems to be 3 issues in the network, one is the router acting odd disconnecting internet for seconds but never catching it with the light not white..
  • a blip where a game seemingly drops the routers connection, although it lines up with the FW logs when I generally play it (and haven't for a week'ish..
  • and random routing drops.. Router will say it has internet but net access to it would drop for all.

  1. I often see these type of FW. messages that appear to correlate with unresponsive internet access
    • FW.IPv6 FORWARD drop
      , 9277 Attempts, 2026/7/23 22:13:47    Firewall Blocked
    • FW.WANATTACK DROP
      , 140 Attempts, 2026/7/23 21:45:01    Firewall Blocked
    • FW.IPv6 INPUT drop
      , 1205 Attempts, 2026/7/23 21:45:01    Firewall Blocked
  2. Additionally I'll get weird router drops at certain points of playing PoE2 (path of exile 2).. waiting for the next season or 2..  I was wondering if others have a method to resolve that.
  3. as well as my VPN will just drop to work... but that could just be the VPN, although it seems to affect all the other devices connected to the router.  They don't appear to line up with any of the fw. drops.  VPN drops can occur between 0700-1500 EAST normal usage.

Most of the time when these occur, the panoramic router light stays white.  These issues were issues prior to the outage we had about a month ago.  They are annoying and it is aggravating.. The support requirement of rebooting the router "works" but only because of the time it takes to work is shorter than the time to reboot the network.   Its really unacceptable for a router to lose connection multiple times a day.  I have a 8port switch between the router and the rest of the devices and bridged WAP.. the newest part of the network is the cox router and your logs can show that its been a year or 2 (or 4 who knows) since getting it.

I could try replacing the un-managed 8port for a managed version to see if somehow a variation of STPis causing internal stuff.

holy... you're experiencing the same issue as me - connection drops for several seconds and reconnect while modem stays active (white solid light).

I also get those IPv6 Forward and Input drops shown in the logs at the time of drop and nothing shows up in other logs - only the firewall log.

I tried tweaking my PC's network settings, but I don't think that's the issue - I've also tried changing around gateway settings using ChatGPT but no luck. I honestly feel like this is COX's issue or they're throttling the network. I also had an outage couple of weeks ago and this drops are happening a lot more often after that outage

I’m also having the same problem I’m on console and it constantly just crashes but the white light is still on so I ran a speed test and multiple times I seen a bit of packet loss , and trust me on this , I posted about the problem I’ve experienced and they legit just suspended me bc they are not trying to solve problems on there ends , so it’s probably - multiple channel interface in the area , or that they don’t want to fix it and take the money and run , it’s best to talk to the tech about the issue to see what they say but if they can’t fix it then switch providers , cuz the tech person just gonna say that the maintenance team gonna have to take a look at it and after 10 days the issue is still gonna be there cuz they dont understand what to do so hopefully this helps
