Address book transfer

I received an Apple IPad Mini5 for Christmas. I have a Cox.net email account which I normally access via a desktop PC. I want to set my Mini5 up for full email use but don't know how to copy, move or whatever the process is to get my address book into the Mini5. I am not technologically savvy and would like to find basic step by step instructions. Any and all help will be appreciated.
