I am a wireless PC gamer who regularly encounters connection issues with my wifi network. My family has upgraded to the premier internet package, bought a fantastic router, and also payed for a new wireless adapter for myself; however, my connection still undergoes heavy lag and often disconnects from the wifi network. This only occurs when they are on their internet devices as well, only they do not experience any trace of lag. Is there any way for me to still game wireless and have a stable connection?

Wireless and gaming are two words that should never be used in the same sentence IMHO. I think you would MUCH better off drilling a hole and running a CAT5e ethernet. If your serious about gaming, that is the way to go, period.
With that said, I would need to know more about your situation;
1. What kind of router and adapter do you have?
2. How comfortable are you with networking? Can you do a router installation without the CD?
3. How many wireless networks are in range of you?
4. What is the enviroment? Apartment complex? Brick/stone/drywall? Etc

1. Router - NETGEAR N750 Wireless Dual Band, (WNDR4000-probably means nothing)
Adapter - TP-Link - 300 Mbps Wireless N PCI Adapter
2. I'm pretty incompetent with computers, so I'll assume that I can't
3. My family and maybe a couple of my neighbors
4. Smallish house, my computer is located in my room, about 13 meters from the router, with drywalls in the way.

You might want to see if you can get a family member or hire someone then to help you out. Wireless troubleshooting isn't for the laymen and requires the use of some complex tools. I might be able to give suggestions on how to make the wireless connection better, but if your not comfortable at the router's 192.168.1.1 your probably better off staying away. First rule of technical support; "Do no harm".
PS. Im still willing to help if you want. I just didnt want to start throwing technical instructions at you and have you wind up messing up your network in the middle of Christmas. :-)
