Wireless Connection Lost

Hello Forum,

Suddenly I am not able to connect to Netflix, Amazon, Pandora, Hulu Plus and other services despite having a strong signal. I am using a Panasonic Blu Ray player and my wireless router is a ASUS  Double 450Mbps N Router. There was nothing no one did to cause this problem. Everything was working fine before yesterday.

Many thanks in advance.

Maybe the Internet Forum (http://forums.cox.com/forum_home/internet_forum/f/5.aspx) might provide an answer?

First try a reboot of the player. Then go through the connection Wizard on the bluray again.

I don't think its a firmware issue, because unless your blue-ray player has a automatic update, its unlikely to effect multiple apps.

What blueray do you have? Are you using a wireless adapter for it?

TiffanyR,

I tried that but to no avail because you a connection to the Internet to accomplish that task.

My daughters, today, were able to access the Wifi with their iPod touches.

I would suggest calling Panasonic or trying their forum. Or asking your daughter for help. Sounds like you might need some on site assistance, but since its not related to Cox service, you will need to find someone else. Good luck though and if you get that info and want to take a crack at it, feel free to come back. I personally have the Asus RT-N66U (I assume your router) and very familiar with how it works.

By the way, who bought you that router or set it up? I have a feeling it was someone who might have a way with technology?

Heath,

I have  the

Panasonic DMP-BDT220 Integrated Wi-Fi 3D Blu-ray DVD Player

The notifies me when there is new firmware available. Thanks for you response.

Heath,

I bought the router and I also set it up. And I'm not a techno wiz for sure. I've shorter period of the problem with my older router. But it would resolve by itself after a several minutes or so.

Hmm, makes me think its a wireless interference problem then, if it happened with the old router. So we might get a bandaid fix, but until you can find the cause of the interfence, I predict it will keep happening sometimes.

First what I would do is the easy set up again as per page 11-12 of the manual.   Where, if anywhere, does the process fail? Do you see your network name in the list as per page 12? What is it's signal strength? Does it except your password?

I would also look at the "Double Speed Mode Setting (2.4GHz)" page 28. If you are having a random interference problem, turning that off will help. It may slightly decrease throughput though, so probably wait on touching then until you see the problem return.

Heath, What I ended up doing was pushing the reset button on the router. Followed the prompts on screen until finished. Then I went to the player to the Easy Set Up, entered my encryption key (password), checked for connection, it found one, went back to the Home page and, voila. I'm back online with all of the Network services. I don't have no idea what went wrong or caused the error.

Thank you for your assistance.

Oh..well if you reset your router..you reset the whole thing.  Such a beautiful router to go laying around system default. I wonder if just the Easy set up would have worked. Oh well, as long as your fixed.
