Wifi connection keeps dropping every 2 mins

I recently purchased a new laptop with windows 8. I can connect to my wifi but conection keeps dropping. I have another laptop with windows 7 and I never lose wifi connection with it. I have troubleshooted everything I have researched with no luck.
