Upgrade cable box?
I have three older Motorola style cable boxes. All is working well. Is it worth it to upgrade to the new Cisco boxes I see on the web site? What is the advantage if any?

What model boxes do you have now? Should say on the front.

Im not sure how it works in your area, but in mine Cisco boxes are those devoted to Cox's "Whole Home" and/or Contour service. If your looking to upgrade to that service, then it requires a professional install and all new equipment. Also means more money.
I would just suggest trading the CMO620H for another CMX320M, since the CMX is a newer box, but other then that, unless your having problems, I would leave it be. If they happen to have a DCX3400 that will have a bigger harddrive then the CMH3416, but they are pretty rare.

We finally decided to upgrade Wednesday from the Motorola (mainly for the dvr 6 shows at once feature) and for the first 6 hours or so, it was really great! It quit working by Thursday morning and they can't get a tech out until Monday. That's 5 days with a non-functioning receiver! We did have one channel for the first 2 and a half days and now we just have a giant black screen. I've been doing some research and it seems they are many issues with the Cisco boxes. I'm beyond frustrated and am seriously thinking about getting our old Motorola box back (never had a single problem with it!!) and just buying a TiVo!!
