Cox has removed $3.00/mo from the Starter TV Package price and added a $3.00/mo "Broadcast Surcharge" line item to the billing statement.
The "Broadcast Surcharge" is supposed to show you the cost that Cox is paying for the Local Channels that require a Retransmission consent fee.
So when the corporations that own the Local stations negotiate with Cox for a rate increase per subscriber, Cox can then pass that cost along and have a special place to show those associated costs.
The following message, was in the NEWS Section of one of you last billing statements.
"To keep you better informed of the costs associated with the delivery of broadcast television, a Broadcast Surcharge will be listed on your bill under Monthly Services. Your Starter TV rate will be lowered by $3.00 and that same amount will be applied to the new Broadcast Surcharge line item."

Thanks for taking the time to reply, Brian, but I have last month and this month's bills in front of me and the TV package that we have actually went up a dollar before adding on the Broadcast Surcharge.
I will contact their billing department to see if they have any other explanation. Whatever they come up with, I'm going to have to pay more......that is for sure.
