Routing problem 68.4.11.96
So the other day I was wonder why I was getting drastically different pings to boxes physically located right next to each other. I ran a few traceroutes and a common theme came up, anything routing through ip68-4-11-96.oc.oc.cox.net pings 40ms higher than it should. Routing through ip68-4-11-132.oc.oc.cox.net or ip68-4-11-98.oc.oc.cox.net (which I assume are located close to ip68-4-11-96.oc.oc.cox.net) is fine. Is this a know problem that is being worked on? Thank you for your time. My location is Goleta.

Were you having an issue with your connection that lead you to take a look at the pings? You mention that the pings are 40 ms higher, can you tell me what the pings actually come to? If you are having issues with your connection I can take a look at everything from this end as well. Thanks for the reply my cox email address is nsKb@cox.net, but my connection to your hub seems to be fine. If you want to know my actual pings for example a normal ping to Chicago would be around 80ms but I am often getting to some servers 125-140+. Every time I do a traceroute on a server that is pinging high it routes through ip68-4-11-96.oc.oc.cox and every time it doesn't the pings are normal. This problem seems to happen at all times of day and so far I have been able to reproduce it 100% of the time. I can copy paste or screenshot the traceroutes if you want.
