I have Contour, internet and phone with Cox. I have been with Cox around 25 years. I see where they offer deals to new customers and my bill has gone out of control. I have called several times and they will not do anything for me. I am not being unreasonable I just want the price of the second year of what they offer new customers. It states that it is their regular price. I am paying way over their regular price. I am going to DirectTV they want my business. I am working the details out now and they are willing to work with me. I don't understand why Cox doesn't want to keep a 25 year customer but they will offer the world to a new customer that will probably leave after the 2 years is up. It makes no sense at all. I guess that is why the DirectTV person they are signing up people as fast as they can answer the phone. I am disgusted with the response I have received from Cox and the indifferent people I have talked to. I am going to tell everybody to go to DirectTV but the funny thing is everybody I have talked too so far already has DirectTV. I guess I have loyal too long to a company that does not care about my loyalty. Yes I told them I am willing to sign a 2 year agreement but it made no difference. Everybody is going to Satellite so you think they would work with you to keep a customer that has never been late on a bill. Wes 478-922-1809 if anyone cares before I go to DirectTV.

Getting a good deal at Cox doesn't work like that.
1. Cancel Cox Telephone immediately and buy an Obihai box and use Google voice
2. Reduce your cable to Starter or Economy
3. Cut internet to the most basic package you can live with.
4. Wait one month.
5. Now, a world of deals and combo packages will be made available to you
You need to cancel telephone to be offered the best packages

Thanks Mark for your reply. Canceling Cox is number one on my list now too. Thanks for the tips. I just read a wealth of information on the internet about how to watch your favorite shows without cable or satellite and you save a ton of money. The more I research the more I see I don't need Cox anymore. I wonder when the Cable companies will come to the realization their time is almost gone.

Now I just checked the bill I just received and it went up 24 dollars. It looks like they added Unlimited Long Distance to Mexico without my permission. I don't even know anyone in Mexico. You can guess that I am more than mad now. Their billing office is closed. From my research I think I can find a solution without Cox. The internet is our friend and the cable business' worse nightmare.
