Hi,
I'm having an issue with my Premier level internet speed. I've had Premier for years and I noticed last week that my download speeds have gone from 30-40mbps to now only 8-10mbps. I'm seeing some other posts that there may have been some type of issue that needs to be fixed on Cox's end. Can someone help me out? I haven't changed a single thing with my setup and I have a Motorola Surfboard 6120 which is DOCSIS 3.0 plus I was getting good speed prior to about a week or two ago.
Thanks for any help!

Doesn't sound related to the configuration file issue. That only effects people who recently either upgraded their service or modem. Since you have had a D3 modem and Premier service this whole time, it can't be that.
First step is to isolate the issue. What are you using to measure your speeds? What are your modems signal levels? They can be found at 192.168.100.1. Also, do you have any kind f network/router you can try bypassing?

Thanks for the advice Health Edge. I do have a router and when I bypassed it, I'm now getting >65Mbps download speeds again! So, it looks like my router is having issues. Not sure what happened because I know I haven't changed any settings but maybe it's just dying. Again, thanks for the tip!

Maybe not. Now that you have ruled out the modem and one computer, the next step would be to connect the router again, disable the wireless and connect that one computer you tested with before to the router via ethernet then test again. If its fast, then slowly start turning on computers and waiting 5 minutes until the speed drops again. What ever computer you turned on that made the speed drop could be the culprit.
A more direct route may be possible depending on your router. Some have live bandwidth monitor that might show you where the slow down is. What kind of router do you have?
