Outgoing spam problem

I'm getting hundreds of email with the subject line: "Returned mail: see transcript for details" lately. It seems that my email address is being used as the return address for spam being sent. How can I stop my email address from being used?

If it's a matter of somebody simply using your email address as the reply to address there is nothing that you or us would be able to help there.  It might also be worth changing your email password as well as the secret password reset question and answer information in the event that the account itself has been compromised in some way.
