Why do I as a customer under the control of Cox's decisions about the service provided have to pay for additional equipment when you decide to change your services ? It is one thing to have to pay for the new all digital conversion box a set fee but to force me to pay rental on something that I do not even want to have could be considered highway robbery. You are simply forcing me to reconsider service thru your company at all. With the number of options available at lower cost for better service, decisions of this sort without explanation are inconceivable to me as a customer.

FCC allowed cable providers to encrypt. Encryption brings added cost so the FCC made the providers give discount to people who had CATV and needed to switch. This switch was documented..both in the news and on your bill. You have to pay a little extra but get a little extra. If you want to shop for other providers thats fine but why are you posting here about it?

We would hate to see you switch providers, digital channels are brought to your home through a cable receiver, A cableCARD, or by Going All Digital, through a mini box. All televisions will need one of those devices if you want to continue to receive television service on them.
