getting reconnected
I paid my bill via the internet today and my service is still no reconnected. How long does it take for this to occur?

Yea, sometimes the automated system doesn't work correctly. Other times you just need to power cycle (turn off/on) your modem then your router. Thats because when Cox disconnects you via the computer (not to be mistaken with a disconnect at the pole) are they are doing is sending a file to your modem to disable it. Sometimes the signal to reactivate the modem after payment is not sent by the computer. Other times it's sent, but the modem just doesn't download it. Finally, sometimes the modem downloads it but the router still has the old invalid 172.x.x.x IP.Usually if the service isn't back on within about 2min, either something has to be done on your side, or their side.
Just FYI incase the situation ever comes up again.
