DVR playback

Please help. Picture hangs up, is scrambled, and then restarts having skipped a frame. Often an important point or phrase is lost. Should I replace the DVR? Appreciate your help.

Is this happening to every channel, if not, what channels are affected? Do you have multiple TVs in the home experiencing the same trouble?
