My emails (receiving) have been intermittently delayed for the past week. Is there anything I can do to resolve?

I use Entourage. Not all emails - these from Cox came right in, but other's are delayed a few hours, then some almost 12 hours. I have 3 different cox emails and the delay is happening on all 3 accounts. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions. Thank you!

Do you have this problem on any other device that receives your emails?

I only receive emails on my computer, no other devices. I can log into webmail but no emails show up.
There are emails that I know should have come in today and haven't.
I am sometimes getting this error message:
Connection to the server failed or was dropped.

I also seem to be able to get emails from other cox.net email addresses right away. It appears that the emails from external (people with other email addresses than cox) are the problem

I was on with a Tier 2 tech last night and he had me save a copy to the server of all of my emails now so they can see the delay. He sent me 3 emails, 2 came in one didn't (this is on webmail). The one that didn't come in while I was on the phone with him came in eventually sometime in the middle of the night. Also, in the middle of the night, numerous emails from the day before all came in.
The tech said to call back on Saturday so they can review the history of the delays over the last couple of days.
I am getting an error message in outlook saying dropped from server.

Are you using POP3 or IMAP5 for your incoming mail?
Also, if you check webmail, do the emails arrive there before being delayed? Trying to isolate if its a issues with Cox receiving the emails or sending the email.

Hey there. I don't have a solution but I did want you to know that you're not alone. I've been having the same problem for 2 or 3 weeks now. I've spent hours on the phone with tier 2 support to no avail. It's not on our end but rather cox end. They have no idea how to fix it though

I have friends, family, and coworkers send me various emails outside of the cox domain and they don't arrive for several hours. When they do, they appear with the time stamp from earlier as if they were received on time. It's not my email software because I can't get the emails on my PC, iPhone, laptop, or even the cox web mail. The tier two support tech logged onto my email in webmail and sent an email and even though he saw that it did not appear, he had no explanation. I will give it another week or two but the only solution appears to be abandoning Cox and the email ID I had for 13 years. It amazes me that nobody at Cox can figure this out

Thank you so much for letting me know this. I thought I was going crazy. The techs should know this is a problem. The tech treated me like I was a complete crazy person.

No, the problem wasn't solved. It has continued and been worse than ever the last 2 days. The Tier 2 tech told me to call back in a few days when they could collect data from webmail on the delays.

I have same problem exactly. The address I forward to gets my emails but cox delays them showing up for 10-30 minutes. Any solution? Called cox several times with ZERO luck.

So you have a rule set up in Cox WebMail to forward your mail to another email address. How do you access the other email account? Do you use a mail program like Outlook, or is it web-based?
