Cox Cloud Drive Access - Linux

We just recently and switched to Cox. Cox advertises a cloud based backup service that I can not use.  It would appear the only way to access Cox cloud is through Cox's proprietary software or via web. Most of our machines are Linux. I was unpleasantly surprised to not see a application listed for Linux to automate backups. At the same time I am not sure I would use it if it were available as there doesn't appear to encrypt the data prior to transmission the Windows based app. I can only assume the data isn't encrypted at rest on your side either.

Not really a Cloud friendly service when you don't provide alternate means of connecting to this storage with standard protocols like every other Cloud storage provider has in place.

Why is access to this container so limited?
