Swapped my defective cable box for a "new" one yesterday. Hooked everything up and do have television. However, I live in Fredericksburg and have a channel line-up for Fairfax. We can't find the channels we normally watch. How can I reset the box for the Fredericksburg channels?
Many thanks.

You've of course tried unplugging it for about 30 seconds, then plugging it back in and let it sit for a while. The guide re-populating is one of the last things it does when re-powered.
What stations are different between the two?

I think I've located your account and see the problem, but I need to be sure I have the correct account and will need some additional information. Please email cox.help@cox.com with your full street address, the Cox PIN and the serial number of the new box. This serial number should contain 9 characters, start with SAB and be located on the rear panel of the box. Please also include a reference to this thread.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Wanted to thank those who responded to my plea for help. The problem was that they deleted my old box from my account but didn't add the new one. I guess my other cable box thought it was haunted when they kept trying to re-boot it!
I've had Cox cable for more than 19 years and I can truthfully say that they are some of the finest people in the world to deal with. The young man who came out today was really nice and very helpful, even showed me a few things about our cable service that I didn't know and will definitely use. And he figured out almost immediately what was wrong.
This is a good forum and hope I don't need it again, but it's certainly worth a try!

And ColleenD, I believe you had also pretty much figured out what was wrong! Thanks!
