caller ID

How can I get COX to update the caller ID database?

When I make a call from my cell phone (ATT) - to anyone that has COX telephone service (now including myself) the name that shows up is wrong.

Why does Cox, automatically say it's an ATT problem – when it’s not.

Fixing this problem should not be so hard.

If the call is originating from an AT&T cell phone it would not be listed in our database since we are not the provider.  Caller ID data is transmitted from the originating caller's carrier database.  I suspect there is a problem somewhere with that AT&T is handing off to us.

I’m the one that posted the previous post question.

Happy to say the Caller ID problem finally fixed

AT&T does have Caller ID team who is working with third-party Caller ID providers to correct issues such as this. It’s been over a month.

AT&T will tell you it is the responsibility of the called party's telephony to provide the correct caller id.

FAST RESPONSE from Cox. Unfortunately, you would have to contact AT & T regarding how your name is listed for Caller ID information for further assistance (DID NOT WANT TO TRY TO FIX IT)

But it was not an AT&T problem.

Web site www.calleridtest.com which showed me the correct caller ID So that confirmed AT&T was sending out the correct information and the problem was on COX side.

Yesterday I finally talked to a COX tech, which had another COX tech call me back.

When he did call me, he already knows what the problem was and the wrong name that was showing up. He said it was just some old data in the database. HE HAD IT FIXED IN 20 Min.

FIXED IN 20 MIN

My point everyone talks of customer service, and when it comes to something SO SIMPLE – there is no service.  And thinks it’s someone else problem.

It should not have taken so long and been so hard to fix this.

But Thank you
