Call Registry does nothing.

I've been on the call registry for a year and a half with this new number.

I receive about 4 personal calls a month, and about 6 unwanted sales or scam calls every day.

I'm seriously considering completely eliminating my cox phone service.

Any other options?

The do not call list is useless.  The scammers ignore it, if caught any fines, if the gov't can even collect, is just a cost of doing business.  So, as long as you have a phone, you will get those calls.  If you have caller ID, you can ignore & don't answer calls from numbers you don't recognize, that's about it.  Rachael from cardholder services & I are on first name basis

Hi CFellows,

Unfortunately, Allen is correct. I receive so many calls from Carmen from Cardholder Services that one might think she has a crush on me! These calls come in with phone numbers from every state in the nation. This indicates that whoever is running the scam is using voice-over-internet technology to disguise where the call is coming from and who is calling. This is how companies and scammers try to avoid the FCC and the FTC.

Are the calls you get all from the same phone number? If so, Selective Caller Rejection might be something to think about. If Caller ID shows that calls are coming from a blocked number, Anonymous Call Rejection would help. Anonymous Call Rejection is a free service from Cox, so it may already be set up on your account. If you'd like us to check, email my team at Cox.Help@cox.com. You can reference this Forum if you like, but also include your full name, address, and Cox PIN.

I report these calls to the FTC and to the Do Not Call Registry. In the box that asks for the name of the company that keeps calling me, I enter "Carmen from Cardholder Services." I know it may feel like a fruitless endeavor, but I encourage everyone to report scam calls such as these. I'd like to think that our reports will make a difference!

But just think, if Cox provided access for Nomorobo, the problem callers would virtually cease to bother, one call, then POOF, they're gone.

Cox can't provide access to Nomorobo because their infrastructure doesn't support the simultaneous ring service.

Cox promotes "Take Charge!"...just not the nuisance phone calls you receive.

I'm using the "Secective Call Rejection" feature and it's resulted in a BIG reduction of unwanted telemarker calls.
