"Cable" light blinking on URC-8820-Cisco remote

Wondering if my remote's shot, or if there's something I can do. Just replaced the batteries, then replaced them again, then made doubly sure they're installed correctly. The remote flat-out won't work, but the "cable" light blinks periodically. That's all it'll do.

When you say the cable light blinks, do you mean when pressing a button or just randomly? 

First check all the buttons and make sure none of them are stuck down or broken in anyway. You might also try a reprogram of the cable code by pressing the cable button once, then press and hold the Swap button + A until cable blinks twice. This is assuming you have a Cisco cable box.

If pressing the cable button doesn't even make it light up after new batteries then yea, probably need new remote.

Yeah, it was just randomly blinking all on its own every so often. I thought about the sticking key thing and cleaned the keypad with alcohol, but no-go. Now, none of the buttons work. Can't even get a reaction from the keypad light button. Yes, we have a Cisco box.
