I've come here as a last resort with your company in regards to my cable. No one seems to understand what exactly this means with the Tivo but upon many searches on the internet it appears that a cable card will become deactivated after not being used for 30 days just as most set top boxes. However, when I talk to the Tech Support for Cable Cards, they do not understand what I am talking about or referring to and act like I don't know what I am referring to. I've been trying to get my Tivo Roamio activated. A Tech was sent out here on Saturday and spent four hours with me. However, due to my work schedule I am not able to have another one come out until Sunday. There are a couple of things that could make it say "Not Staged". Due to inactivity of the card, provisioning of the card, they need to send a "staging hit" to the card to get it activated. No one seems to understand this and says to wait for the truck roll. I don't want to wait that long. Can someone who knows anything on the backend of the office please contact me to try to get this setup? The tech is going to have the same problems unless they have a new cable card that was used recently.

I'm not sure what resource you've found that has advised that a cable card will deactivate after not being used for 30 days, but your information is incorrect. The error message that the card is not staged can be caused by a number of different scenarios. The more common causes are signal issues that interrupt communication, incorrect information stored in our system or sometimes an actual issue with the card. I'd like to take a closer look for you. Please email me at cox.help@cox.com with the following information so that we may better assist you:
Your full name
The name on the account if different from yours
Your complete street address including city, state and apartment/unit number
The Cox PIN or last 4 digits of the account holder's Social
Once we have this information and can review the account a moderator will be able to determine the best course of action to get this corrected for you.
