Cable box automatically changing channels

If I leave my cable boxes on for an extended amount of time, they automatically change to channel 96...why? I don't want this to happen. I had it on today, went out for a walk and left it on for the dogs, and came home to channel 96. It never used to do this, it started a couple of months ago, now I want it to stop.
