I have this box in my backyard. It has broken open from a tree root growing under it. Is it part of the Cable System? Who do I contact to get it fixed or removed?
Thing on the left is the cover for your underground drop from Cox. Not sure what thing on right is. Can you open it and see inside? Any stickers or writing on it? Could be a utility box, but could also be for electricity.
Maybe try calling your local Digsafe(811)? They should know who's wires they belong to which should tell you who the box belongs to.
Do you live in a managed housing area, such as townhouse or condo community? Or is that literally your property and not a "common access area" for your community?
If it's managed property, the box could be housing shutoff valves for an underground sprinkler system; contact the Community Manager. If it's your property, as Teck posted, call 811 or go to http://call811.com to have it identified.
I don't think it's electrical because it should have a Voltage Warning or Danger Electrical label on it.
Look inside! Be careful though...there might be a bunch of hungry Asian kids looking up at you.
