Apple Airport?

I have a recent iMac and was thinking of getting a new router as well.  Will the Apple Airport work with my Cisco Model DPQ3212 work with it?

One of the reasons I'm thinking of a new router and possibly bumping my connection speed is that I'm suddenly experiencing performance issues in my favorite virtual world Second Life.  I'm fine in World of Warcraft and don't really understand what is causing the problems.  They seem to have started when I installed Yosemite, but that is just my perception.

From what I can tell on this end a new router would probably be an upgrade and could help with Internet performance as well.  Since we doubled our download speeds recently many have found that if they have an older router that it has become the bottleneck in the connection.

You want the AirPort Extreme, not the AirPort Express.  The Express only has 100Mbps Ethernet ports, the Extreme is a Gigabit router.  At or below the price point of the Extreme, there are many great routers.  I would look at all brands and pick the one with the best bang for the buck.

To answer your question, yes, it should work with your modem.
