Cox email migration to Yahoo, Worst customer sellout ever!
I have four seperate email addresses with Cox, just moved my least used address over to Yahoo today. Not only does Yahoo flood the new address with thosands of unwanted ads, I have unwanted emails that cannot be removed or deleted. In addition they (Yahoo) decided back in Janurary of 2024 to stop allowing email "forwarding" on their platform. They say it's for security reasons and that they are looking out for their customers - bull crap, they moved it to their paid platform to make money off of a free service! With Cox I use this feature everyday on all fourt of my email addresses for every email. This is an absolute down grade from Cox Web service. My understanding that this point is that nothing can be done but migrate over to this horrible email system or be disconnect to Cox mail in the furture for not migrating over. Thanks Cox! I do not want to be bombarded by hundreds of unwanted, un-needed emails and ads that do not pertain to me. Even if they did, I didn't ask for them and I wouldn't buy anything from them by shoving their products down my throat. Just think I have to deal with this three more times. Probably going to be forced to find another service provider. The cleanup maintence factor on Yahoo is going to be way too much for me to stay on top of. Any suggestions?18Views1like0CommentsRegistering for online forum
It seems redundant to have to register for an online forum that I can only access once I've logged into Cox account. I'm sure I'm being charged for this inefficiency somehow... Also, trying to add a tag like Online Forum makes the app go all screwy, and I had to back out 3 times before I finally gave up and will post this without a tag. Hopefully the AI reading this will address the concern.10Views0likes0CommentsHow to get rids of the ridiculous amout of adds

2x40 minutes chat, now over 30 minutes call..
Why is it that I've waited 40 minutes, 2 times in chat for a rep to get on the chat to cancel service and now I'm on the phone waiting for over 30 minutes to try to get someone. But when I use any other option except cancel service, I get with someone in less than 4 minutes. Then they say "I'll connect you to our dedicated cancellation team".. and I'm on hold and no one picks up... I think this is intentional. I don't think there are this many cancellations that it takes this long before a dedicated team can answer the phone. Maybe this needs investigated from an outside entity.14Views0likes0CommentsContinuous event code 16 OFDM Profile Failure
I initiated Cox service 10 months ago. Everything was fine until about a month or two ago when the Internet would go out intermittently. Recently, the frequency of outages has increased. Tech visited today and verified signal strength was within specs. Motorola MB8611 (Cox-certified) modem, direct line from street to modem (no splitters etc). I logged into the modem to review the connection and event log. Signal strength looks OK. But event log shows continuous type 16 FEC errors with around 1 - 2 min intervals. OFDM/OFDMA Profile ID: 0 1 2 3 and 0 2 3. Followed within around 20 sec by type 24 recovery. My interpretation (please correct me if I am wrong) for these errors is that there was a burst of noise on the line that produced errors causing the modem to temporarily switch to a more robust OFDM profile, followed by the modem switching back to the original profile after the noise was cleared up. There is a direct connection from the street to my modem (no couplers, splitters, amplifiers etc). The interior house coax cable is in in good shape, with home built in 2002. The tech that originally installed the modem cut back the co-ax before crimping on a Cox-approved male co-ax end. The power supply for the modem is plugged directly into the mains (no surge protector). This issue affects my ability to work from home. Any suggestions what needs to be done to rectify this ? Thanks.23Views0likes0CommentsCoxwifi Hotspot - couldn't get Ip address
I often connect to Cox WiFi hotspots to save on my wireless data usage. Recently at one particular location I visit frequently, I can no longer connect to the internet. This just started on 6/14 and instantly happened to all my devices at once... I've tried an android phone, 2 different laptops, and a Kindle Fire. When I connect with my Android phone, it says "couldn't get ip address." On my laptop running Windows 11, it says it couldn't connect to thr DHCP server. When I click into the menus to get more help on the issue, both tell me one of the primary things to try is resetting the router... Which I obviously cannot do because I don't have access to it. Tonight, for a short term, I thought the issue might be resolved when on my laptop after logging in, it told me to open the browser and I finally got a splash screen. I was able to login and connect and had internet for about 3-5 minutes... And then it dropped again and I'm back to the same place. I've tried contacting Cox help through chat multiple times to resolve the issue and they seem uninterested in trying to solve the problem. They tend to focus on the fact that my internet at my house is working fine, which of course does me no good when I'm not there. I've even had them ask if I want them to initiate a reset for my home router... Or try to sell me more expensive service. Even when they understand I'm talking about a hotspot, they claim there's nothing they can do. Not a single one has even asked for the location where I'm trying to connect to see if there's anything to be done or to see if multiple people might be having the same issue. Is there anything to be done? I don't understand why Cox goes to the effort of creating thousands of hotspots all over town supposedly as a service for their customers, but then does not care if they function properly?35Views0likes0Comments- 53Views1like0Comments
