Paramount + app on contour doesn’t work
Hey Cox, have you fixed the issue Paramount + yet? The other threads started about this issue have been locked. That’s an interesting way to cut down the number of complaints. We just signed up for Paramount + and it doesn’t work very well. Constantly hangs up and crashes. Before you send condescending emails about getting a new box which is not always the fix. But all other apps, Amazon Prime, Netflix, YouTube, Max, etc all work fine. I have removed the app and reinstalled, still the same worthless / unusable app. Please fix, as much as we pay for your services plus streaming I expect everything to work. Thank you19Views0likes0CommentsData Caps throttling speeds
I really wish Norfolk had an option for internet. Cox has a monopoly in my area and they know it so have crap for service. I pay for gigabit service and run speed tests regularly and get 21 mbps speeds regularly and sometimes as low as 3.7 mbps. I have to restart the entire system multiple times a day to get over 500mbps speeds. This is such crap. MetroNet is coming and I cannot wait to say good bye to this horrible service. I know people who live in areas with MetroNet and Fios and guess what they don’t have caps. But we do. We are a family of 4 and go over there paltry cap mid month every month. Worst provider in VA.19Views0likes0CommentsOutages
So beginning of this year frontier has been doing "work" in the area. Ever since then the outages have been quite frequent. The other day frontier was knocking on my door trying to get me to switch. First thing girl said is you may have been noticing we are doing work in the area and we understand that people have been saying cox speeds are slower and lots of interruptions. Honestly curious if frontier is sabotage cox to get the customers.38Views0likes0CommentsThunderbird after Cox-to-Yahoo transition - retrieving address book after T-bird down-version
Thunderbird recently did an automatic update to V115 for me. I was in the middle of the Cox-to-Yahoo flog, and the update seemed to cause some problems, so I downloaded T-bird V102 and reverted to it. The re-install warned me that it might muck up my profile, and it did. Today I see only a very short address book – about 10 addresses that have been collected in the last few days. The only thing I would really like to retrieve is my previous address book. This morning, I fired up T-bird, hit the Hamburger > Help > Troubleshooting > Profile > Open. It opened a profile called C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Thunderbird\Profiles\eskwfzbf.default-release-1. A search revealed that there is another Thunderbird profile folder called C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\eskwfzbf.default-release-1. These two folders have the same Create Dates and Modify Dates, but the Roaming one is considerably bigger – 2.8 GB vs 1.1 GB. An exhaustive search uncovers no other Thunderbird Profile folders. So my first question is – what is the difference between the Local and Roaming folders? And does the "–Release-1" ending part of the name have any significance for my task? More info if needed: The \Roaming\ version of the Profile folder contains three subfolders eskwfzbf.default-release-1 (225 MB) ib2tlmhy.default - (47 bytes) v52htabf.default-release (2.6 GB) The \Local\ version of the Profile folder contains three subfolders eskwfzbf.default-release-1 (125 MB) | ib2tlmhy.default - (0 bytes) v52htabf.default-release (1.0 GB Note the size differences. And finally, the \Roaming\ version of the \esk...release-1\ sub-folder contains 3 ABOOK files abook.sqlite - 256 Kbytes abook.sqlite-shm - 32 KB abook.sqlited-wal - 0 bytes On the other hand, the \Local\ version of the \esk...release-1\ sub-folder does not contain any ABOOK files. From all of this, I am concluding that the address book I am looking for is probably the abook.sqlite 256Kbyte file in the roaming version of the profile folder. However, when I open any of the abook files with Notepad, I don't see anything that looks like a bunch of addresses. I don't expect Notepad to show me any organized or formatted result – but shouldn't I see some text that resembles addresses? What is next? During the Cox-to-Yahoo transition, I made a number of changes to email accounts and passwords. They are now set up the way I want them, and I DO NOT WANT TO UNDO any of those changes. But I think I should be good if I simply copy today's \Roaming\Profile into today's \Local\ folder. Confirm? Thanks - Bill38Views0likes0CommentsWhy is there NOT a CLOCK on the new Contour boxes…?
Hello, my contour box (with a clock) stopped working 2 days ago. Unfortunately, in 15 years of Cox service - this is probably the 5th box I have had. Anyway, when I went to the local Cox store I was told the boxes with clocks are being “phased out”. I then asked the young man if he had any there with a clock - although, he was very nice - he replied: “I would have to look through possibly 11 boxes to find one.” I wanted to say: “how about I give you $2500 a year to find one?” It is disconcerting to pay so much for a service and have so few choices, not to mention the frustration of paying so much for something that isn’t working - right…..?51Views0likes0Comments
