Only receiving 28Mbps and paying for gigablast. other neighbors report the same thing.
Can anyone explain why I only get a fraction of what I pay for? my last speed test was 16Mbps, and at best I get 28mbps. I pay for 1000Mbps, and I fully understand that one device will never actually get those speeds (several people are using the internet), but I am not even getting a twentieth of what I am paying for. I called the support line, and the guy wanted to restart my router and modem (of course), and then tried to have me get a tech to come look at it (for about 100$ of course). I vehemently declined that offer, I know my equipment is good, I paid for excellent brands, and both the modem and the router support +1000Mbps speeds. I told customer service they needed to have someone come check the main line in my neighborhood as my neighbor (and several others) all shared the same experience with me, we are getting hardly any internet. They supposedly created a ticket for a tech to come to inspect the box outside and gave me the ticket number, but I have not received any news on that front yet. @COX - please resolve our situation. -Sincerely, Paying CustomersSolved966Views0likes6CommentsPing Spikes each minute
Hi, I have been trying to resolve this issue for a while now. I have had 2 technicians come out now, spoken with 4 customer representatives online and gone up to the Cox store once on top of signing up for the Cox complete care and still the issue is not resolved. I am on ethernet and have tested my pc after kicking all other devices off of the network this has not worked. I was initially suspicious that it could be a node congestion problem but I am unsure. I have run pingplotter and see that every minute or so there are very higher spikes upwards of 500ms sometimes. Recently I was disqualified from an online tournament from this issue. Which is extremely frustrating especially because I am at a loss with this. The first technician ran some test ran some tests off of his gameboy color and told me he was 99% sure that it was the PW3 Cox router/modem I had that was less than 1.5 years old, he didn't have a spare so I was advised to go up to cox to replace it. Once I tested the new PW6 I had the same problem so another technician was sent out. To which he advised this would have to go higher as it above them. I reached out to customer support to inquire and they offered to escalate the issue. Today and went to check the status of this only to discover that there was no evidence of this every being recorded. I have tried to take action on this as best as I could and am happy to hear some advise or suggestions on the matter. Unfortunately I have spend alot of time and money now dealing with Cox and have not gotten anywhere.1.1KViews0likes4CommentsInconsistent Internet During Gaming
Hello. I'm constantly getting dropped from games and my internet feels unstable. Sometimes my internet drops all together. I'm done multiple equipment reboots and checked firmware on my router and modem. Modem is NETGEAR CM1000. I have this "SYNC Timing Synchronization failure" plus some other issues in my modem logs. Any thoughts? Thanks. OK, so my connection for while has been super unstable. its been going on for 3 months and the problem hasn't got away. My connection would out of nowhere stop and then continue again. I've already tried to restart my modem even tho just a few days ago I upgraded to the gigablast connection and I have had cox doing troubleshoots which would fix it for a bit but it would just start all over again. Also when it disconnects it would show that IPv6 is disconnect and rarely it would also show that IPv4 is not connected. I would really like to know what's happening because I can't go on for 5 minutes without the internet just disconnecting for 2-10 seconds. My desktop is also connected via ethernet cable and the rest are wireless.2.3KViews0likes1CommentUnstable upload speeds - need solution
