Issue w/ SMTP in Thunderbird 45.8.0
I've had issues before with it not saving outgoing mail in Thunderbird, but NEVER in sending. This has appeared over the last 24 hours or so, still works fine in my phone & iMac (both using IMAP and Apple Mail). Now that I'm typing this I realize it might be JUST due to the VPN. I do use it with different end points/cities. But either way it's happening and I need to be able to send e-mails, regardless of what city/country I appear to be sending from. Thunderbird Mail and McAfee
I recently installed the McAfee internet protection package offered by Cox. Since then, when sending e-mail I often get an error message the first time. Then I try again and the message is sent. I checked Mozilla and found this information. Thunderbird All versions and McAfee High CPU usage, a message 'Sending of message failed. Unable to open the temporary file C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Temp\nsmail.tmp. Check your 'Temporary Directory' setting.' and in extreme cases Thunderbird crashes McAfee have been aware of the issue since early 2013. Issues should be raised with McAfee so that they can fix their product. Is Cox doing anything to influence a fix with McAfee?2.5KViews0likes1Comment
