Tremendous internet slow down when evening comes around
My internet seems to slow down tremendously when the evening comes. Ping can jump above 1k ms sometimes. I've run a tracert: Also an image of my modem signal levels: Normally the internet is at 50 Mbps down, however when the internet slows down I get roughly 5Mbps: I'm not sure if this is an internet congestion problem in my area, or a signal problem. I am also using wireless throughout the house.2.1KViews0likes1CommentCox Gigablast - Video buffering issues
I have been with Cox Gigablast for 3-4 months now. I am getting poor video streaming quality compared to what I used to receive when I was on their Preferred plan (30mbps). I have tried this on several websites that we have been using for 8+ years and all the buffering issues have cropped up since we installed GigaBlast :( I have tried this on connected-mode and in wireless. I just had a better experience with CoxInternet when I was on CoAx .. The speeds are in excess of 700Mbps upload and download when I do the Internet speedtest with Fiber. But the constant "bufferring" during video playback is very annoying. It defies common sense. Anyone facing this issue and have any suggestions?3.6KViews0likes1CommentHaving troubles connecting with laptop and at times with desktop
I bought a new router thinking it was the issue and I am still getting the same problem. I keep getting a connection error or dns error on our computers I have done the cmd reset for the ip config and well no luck. Any way the internet works on our tv just fine all day long it does lag watching netflix which is annoying BUT what can you do. When my husband comes home and tries to connect to the internet with his laptop in the kitchen it doesnt connect it give him errors or just sits there trying to load. If you open the door to the office or if he goes in the room it usually connects but most of the time we have to rest the router and modem. How can we fix this issue? I have had the same issue on my desktop and I am sitting right next to the router and modem? I do have another modem if thats the case I just dont know how to set it up? Also I am not getting the speeds I am paying for is there something I am not doing right? I've had a total of 5 techs in my home and 3 line techs out. I'm being told this is a distribution problem. There is a representative i have been in communication with due to the BBB complaint. Basically going on 3 months with this issue and nothing has improved. I'm paying for COX Ultimate and intermittently i am barely able to get 10 mbps down and 5 up. Someone needs to actually fix this problem. Look at the entire issue and come to a conclusion. I just now lost connection to everything i was doing and then it immediately reconnects. I have been pressured into purchasing a new modem to the tune of $99. Nothing has improved. I've now filed an FCC complaint as well.2.9KViews0likes4CommentsNow that the FCC changed the definition of Broadband...
Now that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has changed the definition of broadband to be a minimum of 25 mbps download and 3 mbps upload speeds, will Cox's Essential Internet Package (what I have right now and only getting 5 mbps download and 1 mbps upload speeds) be changed to that minimum?2.8KViews0likes3Commentsconnection optimizer
why does the connection optimizer you have only work on windows xp and internet explorer? do you actually still have customers who use windows xp? (that operating system is over a decade old at this point) or are you just trying to not offer a real connection optimization service. considering you are a tech company it makes no sense why you would intentionally offer services that are out of date. please fix this.3.4KViews0likes4CommentsOutage in Tucson?
Happy to see this community and happy to see it appears to be staffed. My question... since last night I've had slow FTP connections and today it appears to have got worse. I can barley clear 20KiB/s on transfers and now my HTTP browsing is really slow. This is the same on multiple computers. I've tried resetting my router but nothing has changed. I pay for the top tier package with the largest bandwidth and speeds... Any thoughts?2.8KViews0likes1CommentIs Cox Throttling XBOX Live?
So when I first got my xbox one and did speed test through the console I was getting 100+ DL 20+ upload. I have the premium service so I was happy all is good. In the last few months I have more drops from games my latency is higher on the xbox. When I do tests from my PC all is good? Are they throttling specific services now? If that is BS since I am paying for the top tier....Solved6.4KViews0likes4CommentsIntermittent packet loss & high latency intermittently
My daughter is attending Georgetown University online and needs to be in a virtual classroom. Her grades depend on it. During her first semester which started January 6, she noticed she was losing her connection. We didn't think that much of it, and she would log back in. However, in April, she had to give two presentations and during those presentations, she lost her connection and the instructor and class was unable to view it. She thought it was her computer. However, after the school's IT Department went into her system and reviewed everything, they determined it was our internet connection with the "above issues." Last week I contacted a tech at Cox through a chat room. He said he would send a signal to reset my gateway (which I purchased from Cox -- A Cisco DPC3825 DOCSIS 3.0). He never followed through with me to see if the issue was resolved. Now today, it happened again! My daughter's 2nd semester starts tomorrow. I need to resolve this problem ASAP!! Thank you for any assistance you may have!2.1KViews0likes1Comment
