DHCP RENEW WARNING causing no internet connection every night at the same time.
I'm getting DHCP RENEW WARNING - Field invalid response v4 option;CM- MAC=2c:9e:5f:dd:67:f when I login to my cable modem at http://192.168.100.1. then I go to the configuration page and reset the cable modem and it works again. why does cox keep failing to renew my dhcp? can you change the server to lease the dhcp for longer than the 24 hours? like 2 weeks or so.Solved21KViews0likes3CommentsDownload speed consistently slower than upload speed
I have been getting download speeds about two thirds of my upload speeds recently. I thought it might be due to an old out of date modem i had, so I updated the modem to the new-ish motorola SBG6782. Resulting in the same download slower than upload ( as measured on coxs speed test and others ). Some forum surfing showed that there may be a "service code" that needs to be set from somebody from cox when a modem gets changed? Also, coxs initial web intercept / new modem registration screen doesn't recognize the SBG6782 even though it is on the compatible modems list. ( I used my correct serial and hfc mac numbers, but had to tell the system it was a SB6141 to get connectivity. Any mods able to do a line check, or send one of these codes down the line?18KViews0likes11CommentsDPC3825 in Bridge Mode
I would like to set the DPC3825 that I purchased from Cox into Bridge Mode. Currently, I cannot do so in the admin pages of the modem. Please tell me how I can get that done. In addition, after setting the modem to bridge mode, do I need to register my router's MAC address with you guys in order to connect to the Net? Thank you.17KViews0likes10CommentsUpload Speeds drop in the Evening.
Been having some issues as of late. in the evening the upload speeds drop considerably. to the point where my sons can not game online on their ps4. bought a new modem and new router thinking it would solve the issue. then we upgraded to the ultimate package at 300/30. sometime around 7pm every night the upload speeds drop and come back around 10pm or so. all other times speeds seem to be fine. what could it be? have had a tech out and he changed all ends on the cables and signal tests were good at that point. issue still hasn't been resolved. requency start Value This field below allows you to modify the frequency the cable modem start with its scan during initialization and registration. I am hoping someone can help point me in the right direction. I have a Netgear C3700 DOCSIS 3.0 Wi-Fi modem/router which I currently have configured to provide my home access to the Internet. However I've recently purchased a new router (D-Link DIR-837) to use to hopefully improve/extend my Wi-Fi and Internet capabilities. I tried setting up the new router per the instructions but am getting no internet connection. Reading the modem/router manual I noticed it suggested disabling the router (NAT) mode to enable bridging however once that setting was enabled I lost all Internet connectivity through my Netgear C3700. Is there a setting/step I'm missing here that would allow me to use a separate router and my Netgear C3700 as the modem only? Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated.15KViews0likes3CommentsSlow internet speeds with Preferred level service
I started to notice it being really slow during the day and only slightly better at night. Internet speed has never really been a problem no matter what time of day in my area. Since I noticed the slowdown the last couple of weeks I started running speed tests on the cox internet tools site at various times through the day to see if there was a difference day vs night. This morning between 9 am and 10 am i was getting download speeds of less than 1 mbps. I ran more tests throughout the day and typically get about 1-3 mbps. At midnight tonight i got three tests in a row where i did get 12 mbps but the next 10 tests i am back to 3 mbps. This is not even close to what i should be getting with the preferred service I believe. I have called twice and the problem has not been resolved. I have run the tests with and without my router and still the same results. If it helps I have the Arris box for my home phone and internet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.15KViews0likes12CommentsTrouble with Motorola SB6141 Docsis 3.0 modem and T3 errors.
I upgraded to a DOCSIS 3.0 modem yesterday, and ever since, I've been having internet drops at random times, seemingly starting with T3 errors, looking at the logs, but I'm not sure about that. What happens is suddenly I am unable to access the internet, and similarly unable to access the router configuration or the modem configuration, which makes no sense to me, but, ignoring that, here's a sample of the log: ***Edited to remove logs contain MAC address The T3 happened around the time everything went wonky. Not sure if it's the cause or not. and here's my signal information: and finally, some information from the help page: Model Name: SB6141 Vendor Name: Motorola Firmware Name: SB_KOMODO-1.0.6.12-SCM00-NOSH Boot Version: PSPU-Boot(25CLK) 1.0.12.18m3 Hardware Version: 7.0 In addition, my download speeds seem to be pinned at 32 Mbps max, I should be getting up to 50, and my upload starts out anywhere from 7-12 Mbps, but then quickly drops to 3-4 and stays there.Solved13KViews0likes15CommentsHigh downstream and upstream power levels
I have seen post about high downstream and high upstream power levels but not at the same time. It seems to always be that only one of the levels is high and the other is low. I am having both high at the same time. Here are my normal readings. Downstream is normally around 8 to 9 dBmV Upstream is normally around 53 to 54 dBmV What could case both to be high at the same time? I am asking because I am having problems with online gaming. Server kicks, lag, ect. Thanks12KViews0likes8CommentsMotorola SB6141 firmware upgrade
Hi all, I am a new COX customer, just moved to Las Vegas from Texas. I have been using my own Motorola SB6141 cable modem over there for about a year without any problems. Unfortunately I can't get it to work over here with COX. It is unable to get a steady 'Internet on" green light and keep retrying to connect. So the installation technician 'forced' me to rent a COX Netgear CG300D modem/router. I much prefer to use my own modem with my own router. I just read that my modem may not have the latest firmware in order to be compatible with COX. I also read that this modem is on COX's approved list. Here are some of the tech info of my Motorola modem: Model Name: SB6141 Vendor Name: Motorola Firmware Name: SB_KOMODO-1.0.6.3-SCM03-NOSH Boot Version: PSPU-Boot(25CLK) 1.0.12. Hardware Version: 7.0 Serial Number: 348781224820222308010001 Firmware Build Time: Aug 18 2011 10:27:53 My question is -- what do I need to do to get the firmware of this modem to be updated by COX? Can I do it myself? Over the phone with a tech support person? or does it require someone to come to my home again? Thank you very much in advance for all your help.Solved11KViews0likes4Comments
