I've had a total of 5 techs in my home and 3 line techs out. I'm being told this is a distribution problem. There is a representative i have been in communication with due to the BBB complaint. Basically going on 3 months with this issue and nothing has improved. I'm paying for COX Ultimate and intermittently i am barely able to get 10 mbps down and 5 up. Someone needs to actually fix this problem. Look at the entire issue and come to a conclusion. I just now lost connection to everything i was doing and then it immediately reconnects. I have been pressured into purchasing a new modem to the tune of $99. Nothing has improved. I've now filed an FCC complaint as well.2.9KViews0likes4CommentsWhy can't i access any other webpages other than "check my mail", pictures included.
I called about this issue about a week ago and it still hasn't been fixed. The phone rep was very polite and said that they were having tech problems with the website. These things do occur but from a internet provider i would imagine they would have it corrected by now. Anytime i try to "view my bill" or "view my account" all i get is a url loaded and nothing else.2.2KViews0likes2Commentswifi dis-enables itself
Why does the wifi dis-enable itself when my laptop sleeps? This action of dis-enabling wifi prevents the rest of the household from being able to use wifi. We recently received a new modem for wifi, but every time I come back to the screen after a time away, I see there is no internet access. Then I click the icon for internet access and find wifi is dis-enabled. Can this be prevented? What do other household users need to do to get the wifi re-enabled when on their laptops?2.5KViews0likes2CommentsThere is a broken like on the cox.com web page.

I've had 3 minimum long chats with tech support and they've changed passwords, fiddled around, but in a nutshell I am still plagued constantly by these "enter network password" pop up windows. All PWs are entered correctly. Send/receive test works fine, all email addresses send/receive okay --- and then they don't! I have a Dell PC, Windows 8.1, MS Office 2013, I use Outlook 2013 for email. (Don't use webmail, just my PC.) Tech support has been hopeless in resolving this and I am tearing my hair out. Impossible to work with these darned pop-ups. Some days worse than others but no real rhyme or reason. One tech tried to tell me it might be because my McAfee security setting was high (it's set on medium level). I said, "and that would explain 6 pop up windows in 20 seconds?" No answer. I'm beyond disappointed in Cox. Twice, the tech support sessions left things worse rather than better. Has anyone had and resolved this problem? Thanks for any advice.11KViews0likes6CommentsEmail hasn't worked for more than a month
My email has not worked consistently for the past six weeks or so. There are delays in sending and receiving mail. Classic and Enhanced webmail only loads about half the time. I have called tech support numerous times. Today I was told that this is a known issue that has been going on for 3-4 weeks and that it has made its way past all of the supervisors to the corporate office and that the call center has nothing to do with it any longer. They also have no idea when it might be fixed. This is completely ridiculous. I have a year left on my two-year contract. I work at home and dozens of clients have my email address. I should not have to change it to some other web-based email when I am paying a premium to what amounts to the only vendor available in my area. I am in the process of filing a formal complaint with the Arizona Attorney General's office. There is no reason I should continue to pay my bill if you are unable to even guess as to when you'd be able to provide a basic service like consistent, timely email. This is 2015, not 1995.2.4KViews0likes2CommentsService Appointment Charge of $60
Hi, I recently moved to San Diego, and without much of a choice, installed Cox in our apartment. The signal was terrible, dying every couple hours, and many times turning the modem on and off didn't change anything. I decided to hire the next level of Internet speed, hoping to be considered a consumer 'a little higher' in the food chain, and guess what? It didn't change. I called COX to ask them to fix it, after all, I hired a working internet service. They said someone was coming, and indeed, a technician came, said the signal was low, and put up a device to improve the dB (not a neat job, I had to rearrange the cables properly). A few days went by, and the problems continued. I started to learn to live with the fact that I needed to reset the modem and router every couple hours, which is certainly not what I have experience in both Denver and Chicago with Comcast. Parallel to that, I signed a VPN service, that helped the connection incredibly, but I can't explain why. I just received the Dec 10 bill here (Due Dec 30) and realized we got charged for $60 for the Service Appointment. My question is: FOR WHAT REASON? It is certainly shameful for a company to charge an extra that is almost a couple months of service for basically trying to fix the exact service it is not delivering. (Besides that, we have been having problems about the automatic payment, but will try to set it up one more time.) I would certainly like for this service fee to be cancelled before the Due date. Hey Guys, Just looking for some help and saw some good responses after trolling through the site today. I have been plagued by intermittent disconnections persistently for almost two years at this new house in Williamsburg, VA. I have replaced my Motorola SB 5101 with the new SB 6141 and still have the same problem. I have replaced an Apple Time Capsule with the Asus RT-AC68U router and still have the same problem. I called COX tech support and they couldn't seen any problem so they sent out a tech. He found some old connectors and inappropriate grounding and fixed all of that. He tested the line (which is a direct RG-6 coax connection to the box on the side of this house with new connectors and no splitters) and we were getting plenty of signal strength. Unfortunately, the problem recurred. Sometimes it is more than once per day, other times we go days without a drop. Every time though, resetting the modem fixes the problem. This morning it happened, no wi-fi internet, no hard-wired internet. I found this log in my modem this afternoon: So, any help I can get, I will take. Should I replace the RG-6 with quad shielded cable? Should I go for a Cisco router that may be better supported by Cox. I bought the SB6141 outright, but may be able to return it. Thanks guys,4.9KViews0likes9Comments
