Cox Rhode Island - Very inconsistent speeds now
The past couple of days I'm having very inconsistent speeds. Ranging from great to unusable. Mostly bad upload speeds. Even speed tests are timing out. I even bypassed the router and connected my cable directly from the modem to my computer. Same problem. Now common sense tells me that it can't be any of my equipment since one hour my speeds are great, followed by two hours of crappy speeds, then OK speeds again. It's all over the place. My internet has turned Bi-polar. It wasn't like this until Friday October 4th. I've heard rumors of Cox rerouting packets in other cities.I found this post below. This problem isn't your modem or your wiring, it's a problem in Cox's choice of routing, it was changed to Cogentco after the first of the year and they have a history of high latency and poor service since 2005 So if that's the case please respond and say so here. Don't have me screw around with all of my equipment for nothing. I won't appreciate it. I've changed nothing at my house. It's suddenly acting all screwy. I've uploaded 3 videos of Speed tests thatI just did. All were conducted within a span of 5 minutes. This will show you how erratic my speeds are. The first two tests were horrible.
