Unsolicited Returned Mail
I keep getting tons of emails from the Mail System Administrator with the subject Returned Mail. But none of these are emails that either my wife nor I have sent. They are coming in with email addresses that we do not know and are completely unfamiliar with. Some of them are in German and neither of us speak or read German. At first it was just a few of these but now they are making up nearly 50% of our inbox. As far as i am concerned these are spam emails. What can we do to stop these from coming in?2.2KViews0likes1CommentTransfer account
I am moving to Texas where I don't plan on having Cox. I want to transfer the account I have in my name to my roommate (we share it anyway), however, I don't have a phone. How can I get this done? Or shall I just cancel the account and let him start a new one? I don't want him to have to pay that start-up cost when it's already working.10KViews0likes3Commentsinternet service suspension
I would like to suspend internet service from midnight to 5 am. I have tried to set access times on our wireless router but 3 teenagers keep outsmarting me. I'm tired of playing cat and mouse and would like the modem or service to shut down for 5 hours every night. Is this possible?2.5KViews0likes2CommentsUpgraded to Premier service but still getting preferred speeds
Hello and thank you for reading. I upgraded to Cox Premier from preferred yesterday 7/19. However, I am still getting preferred speeds. After the Premier upgrade I am receiving the same 25 Mbps down (using either my router, or direct from my PC). My modem is showing 4 bonded downstream and 2 bonded upstream. I have checked all wire connections, cables, and performed several speed tests on various sites, but my download speed cannot achieve greater than 25Mbps. I also emailed cox.help@cox.com about this and included a link referencing related threads in this forum. Any assistance solving this problem is greatly appreciated! Hello The option to deactivate the wireless has been hidden in the router CG3000D-RG provided by Cox. In the source code of the advanced settings there is a little input that as just been commented and even if you force to enable it the router doesn't accept the new value. Solution? PS: It's not available too in the hidden page of the router (http://192.168.0.1/RgServices.asp)46KViews0likes27CommentsData Usage

Does anyone know why i cant access internet tools. I just get a page saying "if you had cox internet, you would be here by now" chat support 3 times, 2 calls to phone support and supervisors. I need to add email addresses and I am getting frustrated. I feel they are providing half the service so i should only pay half the bill3.7KViews0likes3CommentsInternet speed/price changes
I have been with COX for a long time so know the history of my internet connection. At one time I paid approx $20 a month for 3 meg download which caused some problems. This was about a year ago so I called them about an upgrade to 5 meg download which was approx $30 a month. In fact they told me the 3 meg serivce was not even available anymore because 5 meg is recommended at a minimum to do most things. I even did speedtest.net before and after to verify the download speed. So I now I noticed they just increased my internet cost to $40 a month and guess what the download speed is now back to the low 3 meg which is by the way still not recommended for many applications which suggest a minimum of 5 meg which explains a few things. Of course now I can go to the next option for $55 a month which jumps all the way up to 18 meg download which is quite a jump. I would say it probably takes an effort on Cox's part to maintain the 3 meg. So I think you get the picture in that 5 meg is recommended but now their basic service is 3 meg again with nothing in between without going all the way to 18 meg. I am to the point of filing complaints with any agency I can find as well as the better business bureau. I am also shopping for other options.2.9KViews0likes1Comment
