Slow internet connection while paying for 50 mbps
Hi, I have recently upgraded my internet connection to the 50mbps package and I noticed a significant increase in speed for a few hours on the first day it updated. It now seems to be very inconsistent and I am getting as low as 3 mbps downloads up to around 18. The uploads seem to be just fine as I've gotten around 18mbps. The past few days have been a real disappointment. Please help.9KViews0likes14Comments- 2.1KViews0likes2Comments
Why does COX keep charging me for a router I provided?
So apparently when starting service with cox at a new home, and providing them with your own router and modem gives COX the permission to CHARGE you 65$ for your equipment, has anyone else ran into this issue with their service department? I've called 2x, and discussed this issue with them - Now my 3rd bill is here and even after threatening to go to century link...they still charge me for my own equipment!!! Why? Why would they do this? I'm planning to go to century link if the problem isn't resolved but how many times do you have to go through this with this company before they resolve it? Or do they want to lose to century link? Can anyone answer this for me?4.5KViews0likes3CommentsPaying for premier services getting dial up speed
I there a reason I have been getting below 10 download and over 40 upload speed? This mainly happens at night. But if I am paying over a 260.00 cable bill I should get what I pay for. I have been with Cox for over 13 years..... The service guys have been out to my house 5 or 6 times already and still this issue is not fixed...4.7KViews0likes10CommentsInternet Premier getting me 25-30 Mbps
I have been checking my speed on speedtest.net and consistently averaging between 25-30 Mbps and 5-6 upload speed. I have been running the tests from a wired computer.I understand that the 50 Mbps is not guaranteed and is affected by many factors, but I would expect it would be at least a little closer to my cap and not nearly 20 Mbps off. Doing a few google searches of the cox internet support forum I noticed some other people with similar problems to mine have had issues with their accounts that cox support was able to resolve on their end. I am wondering if that is the same issue with my account? If so I would appreciate it if a cox support specialist could assist me with the problem. Could it be my modem, i currently am using a motorola SB5101N surfboard cable modem. I would appreciate any feedback or help i can get..4.7KViews0likes8CommentsWifi Issue
I will have full strength wifi signal no matter how far or close I am to the router but it WILL NOT stay connected! Whether it's my phone or laptop, the wifi in this house continues to disable/disconnect itself on and off. My signal remains active and strong but, again, it keeps disconnecting. What can I do to resolve this issue?2.2KViews0likes0CommentsDHCP RENEW WARNING - Field invalid in response
I'm experiencing intermittent internet connection drop outs. I'm trying to troubleshoot which component is causing the issue. The cable modem log file contains numerous occurrences of the following DHCP renewal warnings (see below). Does anyone have any idea if this might be the problem? Hello, I signed up for the cox internet premier internet service with 50 Mbps download speed and 10 Mbps upload last Wednesday. After a few speed tests over the past 3 days I've noticed that while my upload speed is excellent (around 12-13 Mbps) my download peaks at about 32 Mbps. I understand that the 50 Mbps is not guaranteed and is affected by many factors, but I would expect it would be at least a little closer to my cap and not nearly 20 Mbps off. Doing a few google searches of the cox internet support forum I noticed some other people with similar problems to mine have had issues with their accounts that cox support was able to resolve on their end. I am wondering if that is the same issue with my account? If so I would appreciate it if a cox support specialist could assist me with the problem. Otherwise I wonder if it could be my modem? I am currently using a ARRIS / Motorola SB6121 SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem, which was listed on the cox website as being compatible with the premier internet package. If there is no problem with my account I could look into trying a different modem, or perhaps calling my local branch to see if there's a problem with my lines or something. Thanks in advance4.5KViews0likes5CommentsWIFI connection/disconnect issues
So we got cox and i was recommended to it by a friend and so i trusted there word. well i will try to stay on topic and not list the other problems. it started a week after internet got hooked up my wife just bought a brand new laptop and she wanted to use the wifi she connected and it all worked well for about a week or two. she is not one to complain. and she didn't tell me about the issues till about 2 months ago or so. wifi keeps dropping and i have to reconnect it manually every time through the internet settings. and it started getting real old real fast so i called a couple of times about the internet was told that it might be some interference so i was told to try it in another location so i moved it to a few spots in the house where the jack was available and active still getting dropped. i was told everything seemed fine on there end but it isn't fine. cause i still cannot use my new laptop new cell phone and new ps4 cause every time i connect via wifi i get dropped after about 5-15 min. and i understand the traffic issues but this is unacceptable i pay you to provide a service now start providing. if it seems like im upset i am cause the internet is not the only issue but again any help would be appreciated. your modem we are renting: CISCO model: DPQ39252.7KViews0likes2Comments
