So I guess as long as I enter a different password in Yahoo I should be OK..and change the in/out settings in TB with the new Yahoo password I hopefully should be ok..Last time I tried to use the Authentication method: OAuth2, Thunderbird did not like it for my IMAP but hopefully that has been resolved. Hope I dont have to change too soon and many of these pitfalls will be worked out. Re: Successful Email transition to Yahoo: using Thunderbird on Windows Thank you for the detailed and easy instructions on this conversion to Yahoo and Thunderbird!! Your process seems easy and when it is my time I hope it goes as well...I have only received one email from Cox as yet. I was wondering if you could TEST this process with one of the several email accounts I have with Cox when I am notified by Cox to do so but NOT the original main email account? Another reply to this solution said they did the MAIN account and ALL the accounts went over to Yahoo. Another question is--can you use the SAME password for Yahoo when you are asked to create a new password? Just would be so much easier. Thank you for any help you can give to make this transition to easier that the horror stories I have read about. Re: countour 2 recording on specific channel Thank you Tiffany but the Cloud DVR does not have a clock...maybe some day or hoping this one lasts a long time. Re: Contour2 box not showing movies full screen Changing my HDMI source was to try a different HDMI port on the TV.. We did replace the cable too. "Prefer Best Available Resolution" was off and now is on. Thank you for clarifying the 720 1080I issue for me. It seems now this panoramic (black bars on top and bottom) are on movies on HBO channels and Netflix. With my old box I did sometimes have this panoramic view but now it is all the time on these movies and I have not changed any setting on my TV. Puzzling.. I have a Sony Bravia TV about years old..beautiful picture..changed the hdmi cord and it is the same..and closed caption is off...cant find the XDS setting you mentioned to check Re: countour 2 recording on specific channel Tiffany you are partially correct with one small but very important direction. In order for the option for "insert name of channel" to appear, you have to be on the channel and show you are trying to record for a specific channel. When Cox exchanged my box, they told me to use the microphone and say the show I wanted>select the show>select record> and the options you mentioned were available EXCEPT on the channel you only get SD/HD. I have experimented several ways and the only way to get the "this channel option" is if you are on the channel and show. That pretty much defeats the "it is easy to re-enter all your programs you want to record with the microphone" as the Cox rep said. So, I guess my only option is to wait and see when odd stations start to record old shows they designate as new is to find the show itself on the channel I want (hopefully it is not between seasons) and do the record on the show itself so I get the channel option. Maybe a refining of the programming needs to be tweaked. Re: Contour2 box not showing movies full screen thank you Bruce..I get the same if I connect to another HDMI source. I reset the box too-a Zoom setting is burred. . I did find a setting>preferences>General>Prefer Best Available Resolution was set to Off..so I put back to ON but still some movies on HBO still have the top/bottom black bars. Is this something new that we cannot control from Cox since they went to 720? Before this replacement box, we never noticed all these shows and even commercials with the bars..even some commercials are part full screen and part with bars. Re: countour 2 recording on specific channel There is NO "only this channel" anymore here in CT--that is our problem Re: countour 2 recording on specific channel Thank you for your link but this does not correct the long standing (other searches from long ago) problem that Cox no longer offers a specific station when recording a series new episodes only. So, for example, if I record Blue Bloods and say new episodes only it records the Friday night 10 pm correctly when it is a new episode, but when a lesser station starts showing all day shows of re-runs (may be new to them) it records all of them all day. Now also it is happening with "The Neighborhood'..Very frustrating having all these re-runs being recorded. In today's day and age one would think Cox could fix this issue or at least put back the option to select a specific station for new shows only. Re: Contour2 box not showing movies full screen on HBO movies there are black bars on top and bottom. Re: Contour2 box not showing movies full screen nope--still not full screen..very annoying as the old box never did this
