Removing the duplicate HD channels on 1000-1950 Greetings, Back on my Cox October 2020 bill, they announced the following: ===================== IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR COX PROGRAMMING HD CHANNELS on 1000's Effective on or after 12/3/2020, we're making it easier to watch the channels you love. We are removing the duplicate HD channels on 1000-1950. You can still enjoy the programming previously on these channels by tuning into the lower 2 or 3-digit corresponding channel number. Example: 1010 go to 10 / 1143 go to 143 Your DVR recordings, favorites and parental controls won't be affected, so you won't have to do a thing. ================== To this day, this change has not occurred on my end, though I've reset my Cox cable box numerous times since December 2020 to see if it'll update (using both the online reset tool and by unplugging the power & cable lines from the cable box). In my channel guide, I still have the 2-digit HD channels and the corresponding/duplicate 1000-series HD channels. For example, I have a channel 24 and 1024. If I favorite either channel, both get favorited. I can watch either channel, as I cycle through my favorite channels. I understood why this duality of channels existed during the years that Cox was transitioning from SD to HD. But according to the Cox announcement on my bill, this condition would be eliminated and shouldn't exist any longer. So what's going on here and is there a way to resolve it? Thank you Re: Cannot receive Microsoft account verification code in my Cox Webmail That's not the issue she's reporting. She specifically said she can't receive verification codes from Microsoft at her Cox email address. I'm having the same issue and just made a forum posting a few minutes ago. For example: When setting up a Microsoft Outlook email account, it'll ask for a different email address to use to verify you're the owner of the Outlook account, if you should ever lose your password or have security issues. She & I are trying to use our Cox email addresses as the recovery account Microsoft can send those emails to. But those emails aren't being received by our Cox accounts. Cox is blocking those emails from Microsoft and/or Office for some reason. This needs to be resolved by Cox so that they stop blocking legitimate & important security emails from MS, Office, and Outlook. Cox.net email addresses not receiving verification emails from Outlook.com Greetings, I have a couple of Outlook.com email addresses that I use. In Outlook.com's security settings, I want to set my Cox.net email address to receive any security notifications or codes sent by Outlook to verify my account when I change a security setting in my Outlook accounts. But my Cox email accounts never receive them. In other words, I can't use my Cox email account to verify that I'm the owner of my Outlook.com account. I've tried my different Cox email addresses and none of them receive verification codes from Outlook. I've checked my Webmail accounts, disabled all Spam filtering, checked Spam and all other folders...and still nothing. But if I send normal email from my Outlook.com addresses to my Cox.net addresses, those come through and vice versa. Please advise how to resolve this or have Cox correct this blocking issue, since Outlook.com is a major provider of email services and Cox shouldn't be blocking them, especially security & verification emails. Thank you. Re: Intermittent Email send/receive failures with POP3 - Usual issue every few months - PLEASE FIX Come on...it's been over a week since I posted about this issue, but it's still going on and there's been no response from Cox support about it. Re: OANN My Dad has CenturyLink cable and has OANN and he loves it. Add my name to the list of people requesting OANN on Cox Cable. Your customers have been requesting this channel for years, so make it happen. Re: Intermittent Email send/receive failures with POP3 - Usual issue every few months - PLEASE FIX That's interesting. I have several Cox email addresses and business email addresses that are hosted on my web host...and it only takes a few seconds to check them when everything is working right. Intermittent Email send/receive failures with POP3 - Usual issue every few months - PLEASE FIX For the past couple weeks now, I've been experiencing the infamous & intermittent email send/receive failures, like many other customers in these forums have been reporting. My system specs: Windows 10 Pro x64, version 1809, all updates installed MS Windows Defender active, no other security packages MS Office Outlook 2007 Cox Internet Preferred package My issues: For the past couple weeks, my various Cox email accounts have intermittent problems sending or receiving emails through Outlook 2007. When receiving emails, I'll get the Outlook pop-up error window stating the infamous 'Enter Network Password'. This issue happens consistently, all day long with all my Cox email accounts...then emails will suddenly work again temporarily...then the issue reappears, rinse & repeat...it's an ongoing cycle of working/not working throughout the day for the past couple weeks now. I don't bother calling Support about this because they usually blame Outlook and do nothing about it. It's not an Outlook problem...or a Windows Defender problem, or a security setting problem. Everything works great, when it works...then this sudden issue pops once or twice a year, as so many other customers have been reporting. And as mentioned by other customers, Cox somewhat acknowledges that they know about this problem with email and it's been kicked upstairs for a harder look. In the past, I've reset my Outlook settings for the Cox emails, tried different settings and ports according to the Cox email support docs, and even deleted my Cox email account profiles within Outlook and recreated them (in case they were corrupted). Nothing has worked. This happens regularly, so please Cox...don't ask the usual questions about using Webmail, trying another computer, etc. We know, and you know, this has been a persistent, recurring issue with Cox email accounts for many years and these suggestions don't work or fix anything. Usually, Cox Support hems & haws and says they're working on it...or they wrongly blame Outlook...and nothing gets resolved. Eventually, somewhere in the deep basement of Cox, some tech support genius who lives down there, does something that magically fixes the issue. I pay a lot of money every month and expect working email. Please fix this email issues ASAP. Thank you. Re: Mail server down???? Same here, using Outlook to retrieve my Cox email. This is a consistent problem that happens every 6 months or so...and it's been going on for years. Support will give you the runaround. Then eventually, somewhere in the basement of Cox support, someone will do something that magically fixes the issue for everyone...until the next time. Just keep on top of your posting and demand they fix it. Tired of this BS every few months. Re: On and off all *** day... If you're using the Cox Panoramic modem, that's the problem. They're junk. I had one that couldn't keep connected with a Wi-Fi connection. Cox Support tried to tell me my laptop and phone's settings were wrong and I should turn off auto-connecting to my own Wi-Fi network...which was BS. After a few more calls, support finally admitted that modem is nothing but problems. I turned it back in and bought Netgear and have never had a dropped Wi-Fi since.
