This has started over the last year and a half. I have a Generac, so I’ve got power, but no internet. First, technology is advancing but not Cox. They’re just taking our money. REV will be in our area soon and I’ll be able to tell Cox to shove it. If they cared one bit about their customers, it would be different but they don’t. They don’t even have Cox employees coming out to check problems anymore. I get contractors that have no clue what they’re doing. Which means I have to wait for a trained Cox guy to come and solve the problem. My son dropped Cox 3 yrs ago, & went with REV. . He hasn’t lost internet one time that I have. He’s lost internet 3 times in 3 yrs after unholy storms have come through and only for a few hours instead of a week like I have. Competition is coming Cox and you can’t compete. Re: Morning Boot Issue The original DVR boxes had a slot for an SD card. I asked a friend, who was an employee of Cox, if I could use it. He told me I could not because of copyright infringement laws. I’ve since confirmed this. So it’s actually not Cox. I do know someone that still had an old VCR, and he used it to tape a few shows he didn’t want to lose when he moved to another state. Btw, when you ask strangers for help/suggestions, it’s kind of a DH move to get snotty with them because the answer they give isn’t to your liking. When in doubt, be nice! Re: Morning Boot Issue Yes, happened again this am at 5:30. Turned on to watch the news and saw the restart message. After rebooting myself and two different Cox support rebooting finally came back on at 9:05. Boxes aren’t synchronized when this happens either. This is the 6th time this has happened in the last 2-3 weeks. Always late at night or very early in the morning.
