He said they only last 2-3 years and I might try replacing it. I paid about $150 forthis Arris CM8200 a couple years ago, thinking it was high quality. How long have your modems lasted? Is 2 years really the lifespan? Re: Internet is horrible going on 4 weeks. Mine has been horrible for 2 months. I started monitoring connectivity about a month ago with a script. I'm only getting about 98% uptime. During the workday, it goes down about once or twice an hour for 5-20 minutes. COX Support is pretty useless. A technician came out and said I probably need to replace my modem. I guess I'll try that before cancelling all COX, cutting the cord and getting internet from a competitor. Promised -vs- actual internet speeds I'm just curious what others are getting out there for speeds and what plans you're on. I've got the 500/10Mbps plan. I check speeds when things are slow. I've never gotten above 100Mpbs down, and it's usually around 50-100. Upload speed is pretty steady at 9Mbps. I understand I can't expect 100% of the plan's speed all the time. But shouldn't I be able to expect more than 10% all the time? What are you getting?
