When Cox ubstalls phone service, do they completely cut the Verizon lines and run a new line from pole as I cant seem to get any signal from the outside network interface? I currently still have Cox phone service so perhaps that is making a difference. Thanks.
Are you trying to use your phone wiring for Verizon and Cox phone? If so, that is not possible without re-wiring. What I would suggest is wire the house phone wiring to the Verizon ONT. Also run ethernet from the ONT to your router, that will spare your coaxial to use for the Cox phone modem. Finally wire the Cox phone directly to the back of the phone modem(EMTA). I assume this is for Verizon FIOS.
If instead you mean coaxial, neither Verizon FIOS or DSL use coaxial, so Verizon shouldn't touch it. Instead they install fiber from the pole to the ONT for FIOS or they use phone wiring from the pole to your DSL modem for DSL service.
Thank you Ben for your response; I appreciate it. I guess what I should have said was if I cancel Cox phone service and return the equipment, will my Verizon line will live or os there anything I'd need to do? Thanks again.
I just responded to Ben. If you can see that response, youll see what Im getting at. Perhaps I did not phrase my question properly. Thanks.
