Hello. I just had the panoramic WiFi modem installed. I followed the directions to plug the telephone line in. However, now I have no signal. The phone line is used solely as communication with the alarm company. Had no problem using the previous phone modem. Any idea why this is happening?
You need a couple prerequisites for Cox Voice.
1. If your house hasn't previously had VoIP, a tech needs to rewire your demarc.
2. Cox requires subscribers switching from Cox Digital Telephone (old system) to Cox Voice (new system) to perform a Third-Party Verification Process. If the Solution Store didn't perform this verification, you can call or email Cox for the telephone number. Of course, you'll need to call from a service other than Cox Voice. I used Google Voice.
Do you have a spare phone you can plug direct into the Panoramic modem Tel. 1 jack?
The "previous phone modem" might be elusive because before I upgraded, I assumed I also had a telephone modem. However, what I had was a Voice Port...circa 2005...the size of a lunchbox
Arris DSAC210 Interactive Cornerstone NIU-Voice Port: "The Arris Cornerstone system is the first and most widely deployed system throughout the world to allow a CATV provider to offer Digital Phone services."
I assumed I had to return it but when I did, the rep at the Solution Store didn't even know what it was. "What is that?"
when i had previously eliminated phone service, a cox phone rep had to add the service with new number when i added panoramic combo unit.
what model of panoramic WiFi modem did you get?
